DELETED FENCE SCENE

Savannah was still giggling as she made her way over to her side of the bed and climbed in next to him.  Carolina Cassidy yawned with boredom before turning around and making her way to the end of the bed.  With a smile, she leaned down and pressed her mouth to his.  He stirred, returning her kiss. Pulling her on top of him, they melted into each other’s arms.

“I love it when you wake me up like this.”  He whispered in her ear as his hands explored her body, making her shiver with pleasure.

ell…we aren’t entirely alone.” She said with a sheepish grin before she started to kiss him again while a tiny ball of fur came charging at them faster than a freight train before wiggling herself in between their two bodies.  “Oh and yeah.  Since we have her now we need a fence of some sort.” W

Jacob eyed her as that last sentence sank in.

“So, you woke me with the news that I have to build a fence.”  He turned his attention to the puppy, who was jumping around and barking as if to say,

I’m full of energy and so cute.  Play with me!

Jacob let out a growl as he rubbed his eyes.

“Okay, okay!  But I need my coffee first.  That is nonnegotiable.”  He made a face at the animal as he sat up then reached for his glasses.

It was way too early to deal with contacts.

Savannah smiled and kissed his cheek before she leaped up and headed out of the room while Carolina Cassidy stayed by his side as he showered then got dressed.

The pair came bounding down the stairs a little while later, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee hitting their noses as Jacob made his way towards Savannah, who was standing near the pot with his favorite mug in hand, pouring him a cup.

“All I get is coffee?”  he pouted and she rolled her eyes with a grin.

“I was going to direct you to the cereal cabinet and tell you to eat your heart out but how can I ignore that face?”

“All I can tell you is you better hope our kid doesn’t inherit any of my facial expressions otherwise you’re a dead man…I mean woman.”  Jacob smirked as she turned to get the milk out of the refrigerator then set it on the counter, waiting while he retrieved a bowl and a spoon.

Savannah laughed then rose up on her tiptoes to kiss his cheek.

“Any of the qualities our kid gets from you would only make me love it ten times more because they came from you.”

Jacob paused while pouring the milk on his cereal to give her one of his one eyebrow raised, are you kidding me? looks.

“You did not just say that.” They chimed in simultaneously.

HA!  Jinx!  You owe me a Dr. Pepper.”  Savannah added as he stuck his tongue out at her.

“No, you owe me one.  If you want me out here sweating to death while I build the fur ball a fence then I must stay hydrated.”

“I thought you liked Mr. Pibb.”

Jacob scoffed as he took a bite of his cereal.

“The original is gone and I refuse to drink that knockoff.”

That was all it took for Savannah’s explosion of laughter to erupt even though this was not the first time they had ever had this conversation.

“Pibb Xtra tastes just like…“  Savannah couldn’t finish her sentence she was laughing so hard by that point and the glare Jacob was giving her didn’t help either.

“Don’t you dare say that crap tastes just like the original because it doesn’t.”

Savannah’s laughter only got louder by that point and Jacob flipped her off before taking his bowl into the living room.

A second later, when the TV came on, she knew without even looking that he had turned on ESPN.

Still giggling, she joined him on the couch, her head on his shoulder while he ate and drank his coffee.

DELETED SPORTS BAR SCENE

“Let’s go to a sports bar!”

Savannah stared at Lindsay, hoping she was joking, but with that gleam in her brown eyes, of course she wasn’t.

“Is this another one of your attempts to try and set me up?”  she whined as the two friends walked across the parking lot at their beachfront apartment complex and climbed into Savannah’s car.

“Nope.”  Her brunette headed friend shook her head but her eyes still shimmered, in which case Savannah knew she was up to something.

“Uh….huh.”  Savannah spoke slowly, regarding her friend with a look as she started the engine.  “Just so you know, the blank stare I’m giving you right now means I don’t believe you nor do I trust you.”

With that, she backed out of her parking space and they were off toward downtown Wrightsville

From the outside, Seaside Bar & Grill looked to be anything but a sports bar as it wasn’t near any of the colleges in town and appeared to be more in the “I can’t afford this place even on my budget” type of establishment.

“This place looks-“  Savannah started to say as she and Lindsay stepped up onto the curb and walked through the front door.

“Looks what?”  Lindsay had to shout just to be heard over the six giant plasma screens that each had a either a football or basketball game blaring from every direction.

“I was going to say clean which it is, so I’m moving on to how loud it is in here!”  Savannah followed her friend as they made their way to the bar which didn’t look as busy as the rest of the place.

“What can I get y’all?”  the girl with a tiny silver hoop rose ring and rainbow colored hair behind the bar asked as Savannah and Lindsay sat down and the bar tender leaned in so she could hear.

“Two Coke’s please.  And lots of ice!”  Savannah yelled to the girl, then glanced at Lindsay, who was staring off near the back where there was a game room that consisted of a couple pool tables and a dart board against the back wall.

“What are you…”  she started to ask as Lindsay got up and made her way in that direction.  “Hey, Linds, wait up!”  she called as she slapped a twenty down on the counter then picked up their drinks to follow her friend.

That was when she saw him.

Six feet and gorgeous with brown hair that looked like it had been spiked with some kind of styling gel and green eyes, he was leaning over one of the pool tables poised for his shot, giving Savannah the perfect chance to drink the rest of him in.  He wore jeans and a white V-neck t-shirt that showed off his sculpted chest and arm muscles nicely.

Savannah hadn’t noticed that she had been staring at him until he let out a chuckle as he picked up his beer bottle and took a sip.

“A picture would last you longer, you know.”  He smirked with a wink and Savannah could feel the heat rising in her cheeks as she looked down with embarrassment.

“I’m Jeremy,” another guy said as Savannah slowly lifted her head, this time staring into another set of green eyes but this guy was a shaggy blond who kept brushing his hair from his eyes.  “And that smartass over there is my older brother Jacob.”

Jacob, the Greek god that fell from Heaven, flashed them a lopsided grin and Jeremy rolled his eyes.

“Here we go….”

“I highly doubt these beautiful ladies thought I was being a smartass.  If anything, they thought you were cruel for picking on me.”

“Is that so your Highness?  Shut up and take your last shot so I can beat your over confident ass.”

“First I’m a smartass now I’m an over confident one.”  Jacob’s eyes the color of olives, Savannah couldn’t help but notice, twinkled with amusement as he went back to what he was doing, Savannah’s eyes still on him.
